Affiliate Disclosure

Last reviewed: 16 September 2026

Diamondtaire is free to read. It is funded by display advertising and by affiliate links. This page explains what that means, how it is disclosed, and how it affects what is written here. It is deliberately plain: if anything is unclear, ask through the contact page and you will get a straight answer.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is an ordinary link to a product or service on a retailer’s website that carries a code identifying where the visitor came from. If you follow it and buy something, the retailer may pay this site a commission. The price you pay is not affected; the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket. You are never obliged to use an affiliate link, and the article reads the same whether you do or not.

Programmes and networks

This site works with affiliate programmes run by retailers and affiliate networks. In practice that means online jewellers, diamond retailers and grading-report services, and buying guides may link to more than one retailer so that you can compare like with like. Where a specific programme requires its own wording, that wording appears on the page it applies to.

This page is updated to name each programme as links from it go live, and every article that carries such links says so at the top. Where a programme requires a specific statement (Amazon Associates, for example, requires the wording “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases”), that statement appears on this page and on the article from the day the first link is published.

How affiliate links are disclosed

  • At the point of use. Any article that contains affiliate links says so, visibly, near the top of the article — not in small print at the bottom.
  • Never hidden inside editorial judgement. A commercial relationship never determines what an article concludes. Where the evidence for a product is weak, the article says the evidence is weak, whether or not the link earns anything.
  • No invented testing. This site does not claim laboratory tests, star ratings or personal use of products it has not used. Comparisons are based on published information and the basis is stated.
  • Ownership disclosed separately. Where the publisher has a financial interest in a product beyond an affiliate commission, that is disclosed as ownership, not dressed up as a recommendation.

Advertising

This site also carries display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google selects the advertisements; the publisher does not choose which individual advertisements appear on a page, and an advertisement appearing beside an article is not an endorsement by this site. Advertising uses cookies and similar technologies. What that means for your data, and how to opt out of personalised advertising, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Prices and availability

Prices, terms and availability change constantly and differ between countries. Anything quoted in an article was accurate when it was written and may not be accurate when you read it. Check the current details on the retailer’s own site before buying.
